Company Announcement
Fi, the New York–based company behind the Fi smart collar, is recalling two lots of daily supplements that may be contaminated with Salmonella. The Fi dog supplement recall affects the brand’s Calming supplement for Dogs and its 8-in-1 Formula supplement for Dogs in the lots listed below.
The problem traces back to an ingredient supplied to Fi’s manufacturer. That manufacturer has suspended production while it investigates. Fi says it is notifying all affected customers out of an abundance of caution.
Health Risks for Pets and People
In dogs: Dogs with a Salmonella infection may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some show only a decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. A dog that seems healthy can still carry the bacteria and pass it to other animals or to people. If your dog took one of the recalled lots and has any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian.
In people: Salmonella can reach people two ways here — by handling the supplement or a surface it touched, and by handling the dog’s waste after they have eaten it. That second route is easy to miss, so wash your hands thoroughly after scooping the yard or cleaning up indoors, not only after handling the tub.

The products affected by the Fi dog supplement recall were sold directly to consumers and through the online retailers Amazon and Chewy.com. Both come in a 180-gram container. Match the lot number on your container against the table below:

Fi Dog Supplement Recall: What to Do
If you have purchased any of the above product lots:
- Stop giving the supplement to your dog right away.
- Make sure the container is tightly sealed, then throw it away in the trash. Fi is not asking customers to return the product.
- Wash your hands with soap and water after handling the container, and after cleaning up your dog’s waste.
- Call your veterinarian if your dog took a recalled lot and is lethargic, off their food, feverish, vomiting, or has diarrhea.
